A Summary Of the Health Insurance Overhaul
If everything goes according to Obama’s plan when he takes office in January and begins to implement his proposed health insurance reform, we Americans will be looking at some major changes. First of all, everyone would be required to have a health insurance policy: be it from your employer, a government sanctioned private insurer, or a government subsidized program. Either way, the government will be playing a much larger role in regulating the industry. Private companies will be subject to stricter guidelines as far as the plans they offer, and they will no longer be able to deny coverage based on preexisting conditions and unfavorable health factors. The government will be spending a lot more money providing coverage to those who cannot afford it on their own, and people will have fewer choices and less control of their health care. How do you feel about the impact of these changes? Will it be for the better, or the worse?
