Delay of Healthcare

A staggering one in five Americans reportedly admitted to postponing routine health care due to cost, according to a recent survey. The lack of health insurance among a broad section of the population is leading to many preventative and non-life-threatening procedures being delayed due to the inability to pay. As more people lose access to health insurance when they lose their job and company provided benefits, the problem will only be exaccerbated. Surely the number of people who will suffer the long term consequences of neglecting routine health care will have a negative impact on the nation as a whole. How far reaching will be the scope of this problem? How much worse can it get before it gets better?
