Health Insurance in Florida

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida Inc. plans to put up on the achievement of its Florida Blue stores, increasing in number and services as more people seem to buy Florida health insurance policies.
The Jacksonville-based insurer has full-grown the retail insurance idea to five stores in four years and is preparation to open a fifth site in Sunrise, a suburb of Fort Lauderdale. It also has started hosting wellness events at the stores, offering health evaluation screenings and yoga demonstrations. Now it plans to add flu shots to the mix.
Tricia Engel, senior director of retail development at Blue Cross, said the stores are meeting and in a lot of cases exceeding sales prospect although she declined to give specific numbers on their performance. The state’s main health insurer has found that the stores that were intended to sell more person plans are equally useful to existing policyholders looking for an explanation of profit, which has helped fuel the stores’ success. Tampa’s Florida Blue store is on North West Shore Boulevard.
“We are looking to carry on with our Florida Blue center idea and working through the state of Florida to get better access,” Engel said. “What we’ve seen at the Florida Blue stores is that they have been successful, and as the chance arises, we can meet the need of that client base.”
