No One Is Safe

For students leaving school and entering the field of medicine, the prevailing feeling is that of relief. Relief that they have chosen a field long considered recession proof. Considering that health care is often an immediate, life threatening need which cannot be delayed, the field is not as invincible as one might think. Stemming from a large number of people who cannot pay their medical bills and many more people postponing elective surgeries, hospitals and medical facilities alike are feeling the pinch of hard times. If health care is not immune to the recession, what hope is there for the rest of us? How will health care facilities be affected in the long term?
