One Quarter of Nevada’s Citizens Are Uninsured
Almost one in four people living in Nevada have no health insurance, a staggering statistic that places the state very low in the rankings when it comes to health insurance. Also frightening is the fact that 1 in 10 children are at or below the poverty level, with many of these children having no health coverage. What happens when these uninsured children end up sick? They go to the emergency room, where care is more expensive. It would seem that Nevada’s publicly funded healthcare system is at the root of many of it’s woes, as many low income residents and their children have difficulty qualifying for programs which would provide them with publicly funded care.
