Single Payer System the Answer to Health Care Crisis

Experts are looking at Obama’s proposed stimulus package as a band-aid on a problem that will require much more extensive care to reach a cure. Some are saying that private insurance and profit driven practices are to blame for the currently soaring health care costs and the millions of people currently without health insurance. The employer based delivery system is also largely to blame, clearly evident during this time of recession and layoffs. As the rates of unemployment rise, so too do the rates of uninsureds. Many people feel that the only solution is a single-payer, government run program which would automatically enroll our nation’s citizens and be funded by progressive taxation. This universal type health care would ensure everyone had access to affordable health insurance, www.healthinsurancebrokeronline.com (HIBO) coverage and would remove much of the administrative waste and profit driven policies which leave many without access to coverage. Do you agree with this assessment?

I agree with the first part of the blog. I’m not sure if taxing more for the people out there doing it so others have the benefit.

I would suggest looking into private insurance programs. You are control of the benefits, if you are working or not. The grant more stablility in the market place. Although, they are not perfect.

I’m a insurance broker and my commission is only 5% on group health. I sell/advise/and compare coverage through profit and NON-PROFIT insurance companies. If my customer is not satisfied with me they have options with many of my competitors. I’m on commission and that means I only get paid if I make the sale and only if my customer is satisfied with me to renew. I receive no wages and no benefits, only commission of 5%. My customers options of these various plans would be eliminated witha single payer system. I firmly believe the present employer based system is more efficient than a single payer plan could be. The problem with present health care is over usage, and the cost of that health service. This is the area that must be addressed, not the messenger that presents the insurance bill.
