I'm a insurance broker and my commission is only 5% on group health. I sell/advise/and compare coverage through profit and NON-PROFIT insurance companies. If my customer is not satisfied with me they have options with many of my competitors. I'm on commission and that means I only get paid if I make the sale and only if my customer is satisfied with me to renew. I receive no wages and no benefits, only commission of 5%. My customers options of these various plans would be eliminated witha single payer system. I firmly believe the present employer based system is more efficient than a single payer plan could be. The problem with present health care is over usage, and the cost of that health service. This is the area that must be addressed, not the messenger that presents the insurance bill.

I agree with the first part of the blog. I'm not sure if taxing more for the people out there doing it so others have the benefit.

I would suggest looking into private insurance programs. You are control of the benefits, if you are working or not. The grant more stablility in the market place. Although, they are not perfect.
